Dear Mama,


How are you doing? How is the pit of your stomach feeling about going back to work? If you’re feeling worried, anxious or alone I want you to know that I see you, I want you to know that I hear you and that I’ve felt what you’re feeling, that’s why I started Empowa.


If I asked you to write down how you are feeling right now, or how your motherhood journey has made you feel so far, I know you wouldn’t know where to start. I know that you’d tell me bits of it have been amazing, that your child is your greatest achievement, but I also know you’d probably try to hide the fact that what sticks out in your mind is the tiredness, the loneliness, possibly the annoying health issues that pregnancy and birth have left behind, the ever heavy mental load of motherhood and the constant anxiety of being a good mum. With going back to work those things become very heavy on our minds.


But you don’t have to do it alone, you can get help, advice and support. Empowa’s Back To Work consultations help you to brainstorm your needs, and wants, for being a working mum. We balance what you ‘need’ to do (child care arrangements for example) with what you ‘want’ to do (continue with breastmilk for example). I can help you design your bespoke pumping schedule, if you need one, and give you tips to immediately reclaim some me time, for all important ‘self care’. We discuss how to handle differences of opinion with caregivers, put protocols in place for when things don’t go to plan and Empowa you to lead your own life, as a mum and as a employee or entrepreneur.


I do this job because when the time came for me to go back to work I realised that I couldn’t do it alone. You’ve got this mama, but there’s no shame in reaching out for some help.
